beautiful downtown San Diego, California!
We have a selection
of fine wines, liquor and a variety of import and domestic beers. Our
deli boasts some of the best sandwiches in San Diego, along with a
full soup and salad bar where you can dine inside or out. Catering
is available to many downtown businesses.
 Our #1 goal
here at Mixon Liquor & Deli is for our customers to experience
a TASTE BUD EXPLOSION when biting into one of our signature deli
sandwiches. Personal favorites are #3 The Construction, #5 The
Meter Feeder and #1 The ABC. You can also build your own. Many of
our customers travel up to 20 miles for one of our signature deli
sandwiches. Just wait until you try one of our sandwiches!
We have been serving San Diego for 4 generations since 1933. Mixon
Liquor was issued the 2nd liquor license in San Diego County after
prohibition. Grandpa Mixon originally started his wine and spirits
store just a few blocks west, in the heart of Little Italy. Then in
the 1940's, he moved over to 1427 1st Ave. There he established
Mixon Liquor, probably not knowing the San Diego wine and spirits
store would remain at the same downtown location for 4 generations.
 Papa Joe
took over in 1974 and created The Deli, which he owned and operated
for 20 years.
His son Steve took over in 1994 and established his own signature
deli sandwiches, and is now in his 12th year of ownership.
4th generation Nick, Steve's nephew, is now learning the business.
